American FFA Degree Recipients

Stanley Armstrong became the first Smithville FFA member to receive the coveted American FFA (Farmer) degree in 1974.  In 1978, Betty Brownlee Lowman, was the first woman in Missouri to earn the American FFA Degree.  The American FFA degree is the most prestigious of the FFA degrees and is the most difficult to earn.  It is awarded on the National level to only the top .33% (one of 300 members) of the national membership.  These 43 Smithville members have earned the degree: 1974 Stanley Armstrong
